After two spiffing shows it is evident that the good folk of Dronfield have an appetite for kick-ass comedy. The second night was another standing room only success with some cracking performers. The inalienable deadpan logic of Peter Brush was voted the winner and accordingly he bagged the £50 prize.
NOT BEEN YET? WONDERING HOW IT WORKS?
It’s a monthly club featuring some of the freshest new acts on the UK comedy circuit. And as the name suggests, the best act of the night will win £50, adding a tasty slither of drama into the proceedings. So not only can you be a punter for the I-can’t-believe-the-value price of just £3 you can also vote for who gets to sidle off with all the dough.
Resident Compere for the club is Anthony J Brown (you know, ME), MC at Chesterfield’s eight years and counting Spotlight Comedy Club at The Winding Wheel.
The night takes place at Dronfield Arms, an independently owned free house in the heart of Dronfield. A refurbished traditional pub with a great selection of drinks. The show starts at 8pm. And will be great. Oh yes.
If you’re the office wit or the wag in the snug and fancy yourself as a gagster contact Chris at the venue and you too can appear in the future and set off on your quest to be the next Peter Kay. Next stop Live At The Apollo. Probably.
