‘Brilliantly funny, genuinely hilarious’ – David Mitchell
‘Gloriously, life-enhancingly funny’ – The Scotsman
As seen on ITV’s ‘Show Me The Funny’ and Channel 5′s ‘The Wright Stuff’. Voted 3rd best joke of the entire 2013 Edinburgh Festival and star of his own four part BBC Radio 4 series ‘It’s a Fair Cop’, Alfie tasers his way through hilarious and fascinating anecdotes drawn from his eighteen years on the beat. His recent Edinburgh Festival show ‘The Naked Stun’ was critically acclaimed and sold out every show. Described by Rhod Gilbert as ‘fascinating and funny’ Alfie is an original and distinctive comedian with his niche area as a serving police sergeant. He came slightly later to comedy and brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his day job, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival. He has also supported Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours and toured his own Edinburgh festival show ‘I Predicted A Riot’ around UK theatres to great critical acclaim. Alfie has a relaxed observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing with belly laughs abundant.
‘Bugeja has an eye for original comic detail that’s all his own, he not only mines big laughs from this, but also an unexpected amount of gentle pathos’ – The Guardian
‘His social nightmares make for assured comedy. Greater things surely await’ – Chortle
BBC Radio New Comedy Award winner 2013 fresh from supporting Russell Kane on his 2013/14 UK theatre tour with his inherently endearing and uniquely imaginative wit delivered with sparky, charismatic aplomb. He also writes for ‘Mock The Week’, ’8 Out Of 10 Cats’ and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’.
Compere – Anthony J Brown
‘Hilarious ad-libs and wicked one-liners from an infectiously funny performer’ – The List
Clad in a sartorially edifying manner, like a dapper and dandy funeral director, Anthony cuts a unique on-stage presence with humour blacker than a raven that’s slammed it’s claw in a coffin lid. And not the merest hint of profanity. The overall effect is both perversely hypnotic and wholly original, leaving the audience zealously hanging on to every syllable like turncoat lemmings on a rockface. Jongleurs/Metro ‘Stand & Deliver’ Award winner and BBC New Comedy Award Runner-up he is a regular contributor to Radio 2′s ‘The Arthur Smith Lectures’.
