‘Brilliantly weird’ – chortle.co.uk
‘Relentless originality…manic and gripping’ – The Guardian
Like a truly bizarre hybrid of Harry Hill, Half Man Half Biscuit and Viz comic Seymour is a teller of extremely tall tales and High Priest of the terrifically twisted one-liner. He is a former City Life Comedian of the Year and Best Breakthrough Act at the North West Comedy Awards. He was also victorious in the Cup A Soup Comedy Challenge.
You may mock such a curiously named title but the prize money was 10 grand. Strewth. He has featured on ‘Dave’s One Night Stand’, ‘The Weird World Of Russell Brand’, ‘The Stand-Up Show’ and ‘Clive Anderson’s Chat Room’. He was also a regular in BBC2′s Johnny Vegas sitcom ‘Ideal’ playing the ill-fated twins ‘Craig’ and ‘Steve’. As a result he is now unable to walk down the street without being recognised by the nation’s stoners.
His recent Edinburgh Festival show ‘Squeg’ garnered rave reviews including 4 stars from the hugely influential comedy website Chortle.
‘French lisped his way through the performance which left his crowd wiping away the tears’ – Pickled Egg
A softly spoken giant with a Superman kiss-curl, he has an insightful take on the tribulations of life as a would-be modern man.
Comedy Cellar Best Yorkshire Act runner-up 2011.
‘His laid back delivery almost insinuates a disinterest in the proceedings, but his timing is pin sharp, his control is deft and his hair is immaculate’ – The Scotsman
‘Mike Newall’s style is quiet, thoughtful and casual. The material is excellently timed, deceptively clever and very funny’ – City Life
A former City Life New Act finalist, Mike writes great observational material with a hint of the surreal and positively oozes onstage charisma. Imagine Liam Gallagher with wit. And a vocabulary. He is a veteran of two critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival solo shows as well as headlining the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show. He is supporting Alun Cochrane on his UK theatre tour in 2013.
‘Comedy gold’ – Shane Allen, BBC comedy commissioner
‘Commands the stage… Incredibly accomplished’ – Funny Women Magazine
A finalist in the national Funny Women competition 2012, she’s won various local competitions, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is undoubtedly one to watch on the Northern comedy circuit with her mildly warped but irrefutable logic.
Resident Compere – Anthony J Brown
‘Hilarious ad-libs and wicked one-liners from an infectiously funny performer’ – The List
