MISSED IT!!!! The legendary Charlie Chuck and award-winning Andy Watson at Ilkley Playhouse on Saturday 25th October

Charlie Chuck

Charlie Chuck

Charlie Chuck ‘A masterpiece of oddity…just make sure you get there before the ambulance arrives’ – The Scotsman

‘Known to make people heady with delight’ – Time Out

With his moth-bitten tuxedo, Tourette-like outbursts and escaped inmate demeanour, he is a bona fide original who lives on a farm with One Eyed Dog, a Cakey Pig and a Donkey! Welcome to the fantastic world of Charlie Chuck, a true icon of comedy. Charlie’s act and catchphrases are legendary after stints on Vic & Bob’s ‘The Smell of Reeves & Mortimer’ as Uncle Peter, The James Whale Radio & TV Shows and most recently ITV’s ‘Comedy Cuts’. A manic and sometimes bewildering stage presence make him one of the most remarkable performers on the planet, with an array of one liners, catchphrases and mannerisms that genuinely defy belief yet consistently tickle the funny bone. A cult following that’s not confined to the UK means Charlie always draws a crowd wherever he performs. He has even performed at a birthday party as a special guest of Sir Paul McCartney. Still weird, though.

Andy Watson
‘He brought the house down… Watson’s the man Lee Evans was ten years ago – fresh, funny and full of enthusiasm – only less sweaty’ – Giggle Beats
‘An irresistible, infectious style that had the audience rapt from the get-go’ – Chortle

This quick-fire act immediately grabs audiences with his sharp one-liners and leaves them in hysterics with his playful style and physical comedy skills. He’s a former winner of the City Life North West Comedian of the Year Award (past winners of the prestigious award have included Peter Kay, Caroline Aherne, Dave Spikey and Jason Manford) and he supported ‘Phoenix Nights’ star Paddy McGuinness on his ‘Plus You!’ UK theatre tour. A maelstrom of high energy and off-the-wall observations, he takes the audience on a 100mph journey that has them riveted and hysterical with laughter.

Mike Milling
A unique act, with a rotten soul and a wandering mind, Mike combines silly surrealism and manic, high-energy delivery with childish doodles, home-made props and cartoon cut-outs to insert you into a wild world of his own twisted creation, full of Animals, Magic, Monsters, Animals, more Animals and a perverted Dinosaur.

Tom King
‘Took zany and surreal to new heights with intricate and fairly complex setups for some very funny pay-offs’ – The Public Reviews

Imagine a rockabilly ZZ Top with a flair for inventive wordplay, skewed observational wit and a commanding stage presence. Funhouse and Bradford comedy gong winner.

Compere – Anthony J Brown
‘Hilarious ad-libs and wicked one-liners from an infectiously funny performer’ – The List

Clad in a sartorially edifying manner, like a dapper and dandy funeral director, Anthony cuts a unique on-stage presence with humour blacker than a raven that’s slammed it’s claw in a coffin lid. And not the merest hint of profanity. The overall effect is both perversely hypnotic and wholly original, leaving the audience zealously hanging on to every syllable like turncoat lemmings on a rockface. Jongleurs/Metro ‘Stand & Deliver’ Award winner and BBC New Comedy Award Runner-up he is a regular contributor to Radio 2′s ‘The Arthur Smith Lectures’.
